Good pm at VDM Lots of xbox, computer, iPad, and five guys on a hike.  Easy pm.  I was worried about not having the above dongle, which I will now keep on the machine.  Tomorrow do the chores and get my life better on track.  Smooth and easy is another moto.  Almost the end of summer.  Usually Labor Day is the last day of summer, thank God.  Now for a quiet night at home.

Awake at 7:30 am and ready to complete chores. Weather cooling off.

KP blood test and pick up re fills, deposit checks in CCU, wash car inside and out, jump Honda and smog and sell it, Chillies Relanos at Stater Bros., shop at Wal Mart in SCV, and have a good day.

Wash clothes tonight, clean the apartment, and be happy and healthy.

I didn't feel so well yesterday in my stomach.  I feel much better today.  Huh!

Hot in the valley, cold in my car which runs like a dream.  Dreamt last night of Marshall boys, Christian, and Nick all at a book store in North ridge.  Nick started the van w/o permission and I was very angry and then I woke up.  Strange what we dream of.  Good day at work and too late for Panda so I got salmon, avocado, Bob's dressing, hummus, and milk and all is well.  I am particularly thankful that so many things are going my way, or at least I am not aware of the disaster that is staring me in the face.  Thanks be to all that is holy.

Goals for Monday:
Write checks on the estate account to re pay me for my out lays.
Wash clothes,
Pay Edison and call Wells Fargo,
Smog my Honda and sell it soon.
Wash my Taurus and have the idle and engine smell examined by Ford at Galpin.
Clean this apartment.
Be thankful for all that I have.  I don't deserve it, but who does?

Up at 7am to update Fujitsu, napped til 1130am, then updated F again.

Good am since I only have a pm shift to work today.  The Fujitsu seems to work well.  It even runs Half Life 2 full screen on the Dell 24 inch monitor.  Up to 107 F outside and I need gas to get to work.  I feel good and all systems are go.  The Dell is running at 1366 x 768 and it seems clear and concise so far.


The blue ray to the Dell was excellent as well.  I'll try it at work tonight.  Now to get ready to go to work.

Very good day. Bought Fujitsu for almost $600, napped and barely late to VDM

i5 looks good, but not a lot faster than the Celery pc.  Still happy I have it.  Blu rey, bluetooth, hdmi out, and I may sell the Compaq for $200 to $300.  We'll see.  Good day at choir, xbox, iPad, computers, and ps2.  Thank God I don't have to work am shift with Rhonda and Armando, and Tamisha.  Not bad people, but much too strict and un feeling to the kids, except for CB. 

Awake at 5:40am needing Fluocimide ointment and refill.

Good pm at VDM. No choir because of re paving roads around the campus. I'm to make choir cds of music. Looking at Core i5 Sony or Fujitsu notebooks as an upgrade to my Compac, which I should be able to sell easily for at least $200 or so.  I could use a faster processor, more memory, a better screen (LED backlite in the Sony machine) Blu Ray in both machines, WiDi in both, and the chance to use more game and simulator software on the new machine.  I could go to Fry's early, by 7:30 am to be an early bird again to help me get a new machine.  Perhaps Kathy or Rojas would like to buy my older machine.

I have 15 minutes to make up my mind to go to Fry's in Woodland Hills to be first in line to look at the two computers.  The Fujitsu is cheaper, but the Sony is a Sony and has LED back lite screen.  The Fujitsu has a bigger hard drive, but I have lots of external storage.  I think the screen is the thing that would distinguish the two.  LED is always better.  I also would like to see the Blue Ray movies that I own already.  Huh!

Pretty good day for the Dog Days of August.  Comfortable in here and nice outside as long as I have my wonderful Ford Taurus.  I was thinking just yesterday how lucky I was to have stumbled upon this great car.  I, initially, dismissed it as a piece of Detroit Iron, but a week later after looking at it, I fell in love with it.  I still love and admire it.  It is comfortable, largely safe for the occupants, great riding with the new tires, very cold with the air conditioning on even half way, wonderful sound system, spacious trunk, easy to use door locks, power steering, power brakes, silky smooth automatic transmission, adequate power even under full load, great power windows, spacious trunk and back seats, and a joy to drive.  If I believed in God, I would say: "Thank you, God".

Too late to get wallet, keycase, or strap clamp today. Work on time, tho!

Good day of ps2, xbox, iPad, and computer.  Took Trayvon to dentist and Nick to wood shop.  Then logs and computers and all was well.  Shopped at Wal Mart for staples, now to nosh and go to sleep early.  Sad to say that Steve Jobs is ceo no more.  Keep hoping. 

Buy wallet, key case, and strap clamp for to hold my shoulder belt.

Up at 9:30am. Slept about 5 hours, or so.  Good sleep in that there was no radio to interrupt my sleep.  I feel rested and refreshed.  Yesterday I paid almost $300 for pool service, bought MS Flight Simulator X, and had a big dinner at Popeye's. My Ford Taurus is still amazing.  I can cruise the Valley when it is 99 F and I have to turn down the A/C to keep comfortable.  All the sound, power, engine, sound systems work almost flawlessly, and yet the car is only worth about $1,400 on a trade in.  Perhaps $4,000 for sale to a private party.  It seems to me to be very under priced for what you get.  Also my meds will be ready for pick up tomorrow after noon.  Good.

I got the 8 Sansa Clip+ 2GB mp3 players and will try to get my money back at VDM from Michael.  This is the last week of vacation for the kids.  Next week end is Labor Day weekend.  I will go to the MS Build Conference in Anaheim around Sept 14, 3011.  Ten years since 9/11, and about to be ten years that I have worked at VDM on December 26, 2011.  It seems like a long time, and then just a heart beat at other times.

I am thinking of working at VDM, if they will have me, the months of January, February, and March.  That way I can get ready for my cross country trip of a life time, make plans as to where to go, and save money as well.  We'll see.  I could also only work on call on Saturday and Sunday nights.  Huh!

Now to do laundry, clean the apt, and go to Lazar's and go to work.  Work to have a positive day.

Marshall again, in lots of detail, even after 10 to 15 years away.  Libya has fallen to the rebels, but Quadaffi is no where to be found.  KP blood test, pay bills for Marion, call Bernard, Zyggy, Terri, Inga, and Harold tonight, for a change.  Wash the car, call to secure the PS2, clean the apt, wash clothes, but tee shirts at Wal Mart, order med refills, live a long, happy life, and prosper and thrive, as much as possible.

Good pm shift at VDM. Aaron again frustrated when papercraft taken away.

Aaron was reduced to tears again when staff made unreasonable demands on this young man, who reacts with "no coping skills" as he puts it.  He only asks for his scissors and glue and he is content.  So, what is the first thing staff takes when he is slow to obey with speed?  His paper and scissors, of course.  Perhaps, someday he will be regarded as someone who is not vulnerable to strong arm tactics, as is Christian, who is now handled with kid gloves.  I believe all the kids should be handled with kid gloves, but that's just me talking.  You can't be too strict, as most others would say.

Other than that, it was a great shift.  Lots of xbox, ps2, iPad, and such stuff.  Call tomorrow to have them secure the ps2 for me.

In the am I will wait for the mail and then pay bills, and get my car washed and call Bernard.  Good.  Also call Zyggy for Sept 14, 2011 off.

Nick had a guitar he had to sell. Dennis Farina showed up as a bad cop and bribed me, Nick, and John Cussak to engage in real estate fraud.  We went to a Jerry Brown type, hand made house for the first installment of the plot.  From there the denouement and Farina was killed, only to be sidled up to by the sleazy, overseer-er type who still wanted his pound of flesh, in spite of the fact that most of the players were deceased.  Cussak type tried to run but he was caught and beaten about the head and shoulders while I helplessly watched on the other side of the fence that I couldn't climb if my life depended on it, which it probably did in this scenario.  All was going to hell in a hand basket when I woke up feeling mostly well. Now for lunch and work my final day this week at VDM.  Tomorrow pay the pool guys, the Edison bill, the Santa Clarita bill, call Wells Fargo, and wash my car, get the cabin filters checked, get the heater temp repaired, and have a wonderful day.  Listening now to Steyn with Milt Rosenberg on a podcast.  Good explanation of the folly of borrowing our way to prosperity on the backs of our grand children.  Tell that to the intellectual establishment, the media, and the politicians.  Have a good day.

Paid Marion's water bill, checked house, which is ok, and talked to Joan and got the key back.  Shopped at Wal Mart and now Laura's before going to work.  Good days work.  Thank God I feel well and happy.

Early am get r/r wheel, tire, bearing repaired.  The car isn't safe to drive anymore until it is fixed.  The Honda was so similar, but oh so much more polished.  Sigh! The Ford is still the cat's pajamas.

Slept from 3am to 9am. Up to optimize Compaq Pressario and do chores

I don't want to do laundry.  I still have clean clothes.  Print pics for Rueben and Lorena.  Bring printer for Aaron and Kristopher, clean apt, check car tires, be happy and healthy, call Inga and Terri, keep up the good work.

Training session on supporting children in crisis. Then on the unit:

No video games for level s or 1.  No DS Nintendo for Aaron since he isn't level 2. I was told that he had no cut and paste and no scissors and glue.  Then simply no asking for printing.  Aaron, Damian, and James are the goats who receive the most punishment on the unit.  I'll talk with Mike and Sequin tomorrow.  Otherwise a fine day.  My car is wobbling when it runs.  A bad tire or bearing, or something.  Fix it soon.

REM dream about losing my wallet,(a common theme with me), taking 14 kids home from VDM or someplace, Nancy, Toni, and Judy were there. One of them told me that they didn't laugh much, and I should stop trying to make them laugh. I feel better and a bit more rested than the other day.  Now to do what I want to do to make me feel better and have a better life.

Cruise control works well. $8 round trip to Pasadena. Rey is moving sometime, Alex is visiting his relatives, my life is fine, still.  TYG

I slept better by going to sleep while it was dark and quiet, w/o the radio.  Keep it up.  Soon, pay pool, electricity, and water bills for Marion's house, check her house and my Honda, eat well, smog my Honda, wash my Taurus, be thankful that my Ford's oil is still clean and only on the mid point of the oil dip stick.  Get my blood drawn at Kaiser, and call Terri and or Inga, and go pick up and feed Alex, AJ, and Rey about 4pm.  Be grateful for all the benefits I have.  Does anyone ever earn or have the right to all the good things that happen in their lives?  No, we simply have to accept the good with the bad, and hope to have more good than bad.

Frustration galore with Pam and Sean punishing Aaron for being slow to stop

Follow directions the first time asked in play tonight because Aaron has a hard time simply stopping a video game, even one which I control.  With impatient staff like Pam, who consequences first and foremost, then he has a conflict.  With a weeks worth of video game restriction as an added punishment and the very real threats of being escorted from the unit, which almost always leads inevitably into a full fledged restraint, I told Sequin and the situation was de escalated a bit.  Otherwise, a good night of computers, xbox, and iPad.  I think the other staff resent me because I am too nice to the kids.  Oh, well!

Awake at 8am, slept, sort of til 11am with Prager on iPhone. Not restful.

Goals for Sunday: take out trash, be at work on time, print letter for Adam, sew buttons on two light yellow shirts, check oil before drive to VDM, call Terri before Wednesday, buy new sheets and pillow cases,

Good night, as usual.  I expect all Saturday and Sunday nights to go well from now on, at least for the 4.5 months I expect to work full time from now on to 2012.

We went to choir practice and did computers, iPad, and video games the balance of the pm.  A good time was had by all.  All the kids need is something to keep them occupied that they like to do, namely music and video games.  Movies and books, not so much.  TV, not so much unless it is crime, hip hop, or young and sexy.  To occupy them is difficult at best.  Now to be at work tomorrow at 3pm, thank God, again.

Waiting for the router from Amazon.  Clean this apt now, pay Marion's water and power bills, print the things for Kristopher and Aaron, try to make the YouTube downloader work, buy new white sheets, write a sales proposal for Kirsten and the two iPods, list the games on the xbox for Nick and others, call Terri soon, and continue to be happy and healthy.

Kids did xbox, computer, iPod, and iPad.  Good attitude overall.  I was just a bit late.  Talked with Howard and expressed my unhappiness with the $90K selling price of Marion's house.  Various possibilities present themselves.
Got Panda Express on the way home.  Good!  Plus Orange Sauce.  Now to enjoy it. bfn

Awake at 830am after a night of dreams of Allan, Toni, and Mrs Soss

REM sleep may be beneficial, but it can be nerve wracking. Lots of daily stresses seem to be worked on.  I loaded the xbox case with games and cables.  Stuffed to the gills, but it looks good.  Appointment with Howard at 11am, then check and wash car, and eat before going to work, second shift only, thank God for small favors.  I am debating as to whether or not I should sell my iPod Video 60 GB for $100, and or the iPod Nano 4 GB for $50 to Kirsten or other staff at VDM.  We'll see.

1140pm Home at last from GameDude, Frys, and Microsoft Store.

Got Howard who said the top bid on Marion's house was $93,000.  Bad news unless it goes up substantially in court.  I'll see Howard tomorrow at 11am to sign a court petition for the final sale, approved by the court.

Got two copies of Jurassic, an xbox case, a sewing kit, a globe, lots of food at Wal Mart, and a good visit to the Microsoft Store.  Nice store.  To work tomorrow, and no more am shift.  Thank God!

Completed my last am shift with Rhonda, Armando, Tamisha, and Eddie.  Examplia gratia: Damian was depressed and staying in his room reading books.  I offered to let him watch videos on my iPod.  He agreed but Rhonda and Eddie said no.  He could watch videos on the tv in the living room, but not in his bed because he wasn't following directions.  I pointed out that he wasn't a threat to himself or others and that he had taken his meds on time, to no avail.

Otherwise it was a great day.  The kids did two laps on the track and then played video games, computers, and pictures.  All were well behaved.  Now to transfer to second shift on the weekends.  Yeah.  Of that I feel very happy.

Difficult next to last am shift at VDM. Damian agitated and other tales.

Used all twenty sample printer sheets. The prints will run is soaked and rubbed just after printing.  If the prints have a chance to dry for 24 hours, this might be different.  Quandry: should I use the new printer cartridge, or should I return the printer for a new one, and then use the new cartridge?  I think, return it first.
Good meal at Larua's.  The hot weather is more than tolerable with the Ford's wonderful ac.  b4now.

Haircut day. Yeah! Work early, but no movie outing for me.

Thanks be to God, no scratch on my iPad. I'll print the pics for the 3 musketeers when I get to work.  Now to look for ink and paper in stores and online.  I really need and want a haircut.  I also want to clean the floor of this wonderful apartment.  Do as required.

Good day at VDM: PM shift ok after AM shift this weekend

Mike said the schedule change is fine when he and Zyggy decide who can move to weekend am shift.  Thank God, and Mike.  Good pm with computers, cameras, iPad, iPod, xbox, and ps2, and printer.  Car ran well.  It was 99 degrees in the valley and I didn't even notice since I was in such an air conditioned car.  Thank you Ford Motor Company.  I am very impressed. I love my car.  Worried that I have a scratch on the iPod, which I will check out soon.  Not sure what I want to do tomorrow am.  I look forward to going to work at 3pm on Saturday and Sunday pms after this weekend.  Great day in the morning.

Wednesday August 3, 2011 Up at 830 a feeling well TYG

My new Nikon S6100 is amazing, my Magellan is looking good, the Gamin seems well built, and my ASUS seems to be working well.  Thanks be to all that is good.  Even if I don't deserve all of this good fortune, I appreciate it.

Goals for today:

Wash clothes
Take test pictures of my car and such.
Bring the xbox to work.
Ask Mike to allow me to work Sat and Sun 3p to 11p
Continue to thank my lucky stars, and when this undeserved good fortune turns, as it inevitably will, then look back on this period of good years with fond remembrances, and try to maintain a positive attitude.
I just got two xbox cables from Amazon delivered in two days, all for less than $6.00 Wow.

Thank God I mailed the check to Hector and found out that my car has nothing wrong that a check engine light indicates.  Tighten the gas cap from now on.

I still want a haircut, to call Howard, Larry, Harold, Les, Allan, and Terri as soon as possible.

I am grateful for my wonderful apartment.
I am grateful for my wonderful car.
I am grateful for my ok job, particularly if I can work 3 to 11 p on Sat and Sun.

Third post on August 2, 2011

Paid rent, mailed check to Hector, ate at Henri's, bought Magellan Roadmate 5120 LMTX GPS unit at Costco.  I also bought a Nikon Coolpix S6100 camera, and bought a $40 Gamin iPhone gps app.  I feel well, am excited by my life, appreciate the fact that I am extremely fortunate now, and am most grateful for the fact that my Taurus only had a loose gas cap, which set off the check engine light.  Can you believe that?

My priorities for tomorrow are for a hair cut, wash clothes, and ask Mike for a transfer to pm shift on Saturday and Sunday nights.

Almost ready to go out to get my car fixed, pay Hector, get my hair cut, call Howard, Larry, Joan, pay the pool service, smog my Honda, buy ink from Frys, and eat well. Perhaps at Henri's or Lancers. Let's get going and have a good day.

August 2, 2011 My new Clamcase is excellent, so far.

I would like to make the text larger so it is easier for me to read. I always liked the Clamcase keyboard for a portable iPad keyboard. It also acts as a stand and as a protective case for the iPad. Perhaps I should just write the posts on the regular computer and only use the Clamcase keyboard when I'm away from the computer. Time will tell. Tuesday is a big day.

August 1, 2011 A New Day Begins

Up at 8am feeling well.  Call Howard and Larry, haircut, check Check Engine light codes, pick up Clamcase 2 as soon as it is delivered to the FedEx store on VNB.  Wash clothes, get avocados, blue cheese, Italian sausage, maple sausage, call Mike re shift change to Saturday and Sunday shift, 3 pm to 11 pm.  Should I continue this on the Clamcase or on this computer.  It is probably faster to load and such on this computer, but then what do I need the Clamcase for?

Just got a call that my Clamcase is ready.
